Robbers' Roost has one of those casts guaranteed to make a 1950s western fan smile. Based on a novel by Zane Grey, the story is about a crippled rancher, "Bull" Herrick, who has a large herd that he needs to get to market. He hires two rival gangs of rustlers to move the cattle as he figures the two teams will each fight tooth and nail to prevent the other gang from stealing the cattle. A mysterious cowboy in a black hat, ostensibly another up-to-no-good bad guy, rides into the area and is also hired by Herrick.
